Sizing Things Up
|March 4, 2011||Filled under Uncategorized|
As we learn about our world sometimes it is hard for us to put things into perspective. We hear about microscopic cells, subcellular structures, single celled organisms, and the like and have a hard time getting a feel for what these things are, how big they are, or how they can do the things they do. And in turn we tend to regard them with an almost ethereal illusiveness. The University of Utah Genetic Science Learning Center gives this beautiful and effective interactive presentation on tiny perspective allowing you to zoom in all the way from a coffee bean to a carbon atom.
